Antwerp Breakbulk Conference a Great Success

The 1st Annual Breakbulk Conference was held in Antwerp May 15th – 17th. Modeled after the highly successful New Orleans Breakbulk Conference, this event provided a forum for European logistics professionals to catch up on the latest updates and changes in the area of project cargo and non-containerized ocean shipping.

Transoceanic/PWC/GeoLogistics was an active participant and exhibitor, with strong global representation. Thomas Griffin (Transoceanic) participated in an Outsourcing Transport Panel that discussed the pros and cons of shippers outsourcing transportation to freight forwarders and third-party logistics providers. Larry Weischwill (Transoceanic) participated in a Jewels of the Middle East Panel, which focused on the major destinations in the Middle East for breakbulk and project cargo shippers and shipping companies.

In addition to attending the conference, an Enterprise Project Team meeting was held with the theme “Driving Project Growth”. The meeting was chaired by Gregory Rusovich (Transoceanic) and included discussions on integration processes, sales and marketing, commercial pricing and GeoLogistics CIS. The meeting was a great success and resulted in many action items that will bring this team one step closer to dominating the project market.
