Transoceanic Wins Several New Projects in Kuwait

Transoceanic has been awarded several projects at the Olefins II Complex in Shuaiba, Kuwait. The complex is centered around an ethylene cracker, but the multi-faceted facility will also include an ethylene oxide (EO) / ethylene glycol (EG) unit, with plans underway for an expansion to an existing polyethylene plant.

The Utilities and Infrastructure (U&I) contract involves 80,000 freight tons and will run approximately 26 months. The project will include moving three [3] boilers, weighing 250 tons each, from Italy to Kuwait. Materials will also originate from Korea, Europe and the U.S., including pipe, flanges and fittings that will be delivered to a coating facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia and then trucked to the project site in Kuwait. Coordination for the project will be handled through Transoceanic/Haarlem and Rotterdam offices in cooperation with project teams in Dubai and Kuwait.

In addition to the U&I award, Transoceanic has secured a freight contract for the EG2 (Ethylene Glycol) project, which will be controlled by Transoceanic/Rotterdam. To support the effort, a Transoceanic project specialist will be positioned at the client’s office; an Italian engineering, procurement and construction concern.

GeoLogistics/Spain and Transoceanic/Rotterdam are also working jointly on the PE (Polyethylene) Expansion at the Olefins II Complex.
