Transoceanic Awarded Major LNG Project in Western Australia

Foster Wheeler, with its joint venture partner Worley Parsons, has on behalf of Woodside Energy Limited a warded Transoceanic Projects Limited, United Kingdom the turn-key freight management contract for the Woodside Phase V LNG Expansion on the Burrup Peninsula, Western Australia. Foster Wheeler, with its joint venture partner, is the engineering, procurement and construction management contractor for this Project.

The Project will involve the handling of break-bulk, container and heavy – lift shipments from multiple locations throughout the world to both Karratha, Australia – the main Project site – and to the module fabrication yard in Batam, Indonesia.

Transoceanic's Perth office with the support of APC Logistics will be responsible for the onshore operations and safe delivery of materials and equipment to the job site.

Transoceanic's Singapore office will also play a key role in the project, coordinating and managing all the temporary imports into the module fabrication yard. The early works shipments for the project began in October 2005, with the balance of the project schedule expected to last for approximately 24 months.
